What You Might Forget to Plan for After Your Hair and Makeup

← Back to Blog

Your first instinct might be to schedule your beauty time right up against the ceremony start — but it's worth thinking through everything that happens between the moment your look is finished and the moment your wedding actually begins: detail shots, a first look, photos with your bridal party and family, transportation, and simply waiting.

A tight timeline creates unnecessary stress right before one of the most important moments of your day. That's why I always recommend building in a buffer between the end of your glam and the start of the ceremony.

What to consider in your timeline

Time for "getting ready" photos in good natural light. Transportation between your room and the ceremony location. Unexpected moments — a button that won't close, a dress that needs adjusting, an emotional moment that needs a breath.

If you'd like help building your beauty timeline, that's part of what we work through together before your wedding.
