"Think about the time and location of your event before you get inspired."
Getting your hair and makeup done for a morning event isn't the same as getting ready for a night out. For daytime, I suggest toning things down with lighter shades — a baby smokey eye, or lashes with less volume. The more light hitting your face, the more every detail shows, and the harsher heavy makeup can look. For an evening event that starts during the day, you can always plan a small change, like a darker lip or a deeper smokey eye.
The location matters just as much. Gloss and wind don't mix — your wispy hairs will stick right to it. If your event is indoors with AC, almost any look works. If you're moving between locations or getting a lot of hugs, consider wearing your hair up or swept to one side. And dewy skin makeup, worn outdoors in humid heat, won't hold the same glow after a few hours of sweat and sun.
Before you feel discouraged, remember: every look can be customized to your style, your hair and skin type, your lifestyle, and the conditions of your event. Bring all your inspiration, and your hair and makeup artist should meet you in the middle to create something beautiful — and functional.
